Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport connects to second international hub
Lufthansa to fly to Frankfurt from summer 2017 onwards
16 November 2016 – Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport will soon be connected to both Lufthansa hubs. As of 26 March 2017, Lufthansa will regularly fly to Munich as well as Frankfurt. Up to six times per week, business and commercial passengers at the “home port” will have the opportunity to access a multitude of international flight destinations around the world via Frankfurt.
During the week and on Sundays, a Lufthansa aircraft of the Bombardier CRJ900 type with 90 seats will start from Paderborn-Lippstadt to Frankfurt at 11:45 h. The return flight from the metropolis on the river Main starts at 10:25 h respectively. The flight time is only 45 minutes. At the hub in Frankfurt, connecting flights take passengers to destinations in North and South America as well as Asia. In addition, European and domestic German destinations will now be more easily accessible from Paderborn-Lippstadt.
“Lufthansa is convinced by the strength in our region and the huge demand of the local economy. Thanks to our transfer options, business and commercial passengers will be able to access all important international destinations via Frankfurt up to five times per day and 31 times per week,” says Dr Marc Cezanne, Managing Director of Flughafen Paderborn/Lippstadt GmbH.
The Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport had been working intensively on adding the destination to its network for some time with economic and political support. “The various transfer options via Munich and Frankfurt make for ideal combinations for the passengers. Now it is up to the many businesses and commercial passengers of our catchment area to establish Frankfurt as the second hub connection next to Munich at our home port,” adds District Administrator Manfred Mueller, chairman of the supervisory board at the airport company.
