Positive half-year balance 2017
Frankfurt connection will continue in summer 2018 Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport with a positive half-yearly performance
A total of 288,000 passengers took Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport in the first six months of this year. Compared to the same period of the previous year, this represents an increase of around 3 percent. The Frankfurt line, which has been offered by Lufthansa since the end of March, is also developing positively and will be continued in the 2018 Summer Plan.
About half of the total number of passengers in the first half of the year is attributable to the two most popular tourist destinations, Palma de Mallorca and Antalya. The number of passengers using scheduled flights to Munich and Frankfurt increased by about 19 percent to more than 74,000 passengers in the first half of the year. Both Lufthansa routes are also characterized by a high share of transfer passengers, which can travel via Frankfurt and Munich to an increasing number of short, medium or long-haul flights to destinations all over the world.
"The growth in the first half of the year confirms that we are on the right path. The signs for growth are also on the rise in the coming months, as both the tourist routes and the line connections are in great demand, "says Dr. Marc Cezanne, Managing Director of Flughafen Paderborn-Lippstadt GmbH.
