Plus 23 percent in March Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport significantly increases passenger numbers in the first quarter
April 6, 2018 - Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport closed the first quarter of 2018 with a significant increase in passenger numbers by 11 percent over the previous year. From January to March, the volume was around 87,000 passengers. Especially in March, the numbers rose sharply with almost a quarter more passengers due to the earlier Easter holidays.
"This is a very positive start to a again challenging year, which we would like to conclude again with an increase in passenger numbers," commented Dr. Marc Cezanne, Managing Director of Flughafen Paderborn-Lippstadt GmbH.
Growth in the first quarter primarily relates to tourism transport to a total of six destinations in Turkey, Spain and Egypt, which are well above the previous year's level at around 20 percent. In addition, scheduled air traffic to Munich and Frankfurt also contributed to the positive overall result with a plus of five percent.
