Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport welcomed around 290,000 passengers in the third quarter. The total cumulative value until the end of September is around 581,000 passengers, which is 0.5 percent higher than in the same period of the previous year. Further prospects are positive in view of the increased availability of flights for the autumn holidays and the upcoming launch of the new Adriatic connections to Zurich, Vienna and London.

The number of flights in the travel period from 12th to 28th October climbs by 32 percent, whereby the seat offer increases by more than 27 percent compared to the same period last year. In total, more than 70,000 places are available during the autumn holidays. In the two weeks of vacation and on the weekend before, a total of 478 flights take place, with 16 destinations available.

Palma de Mallorca and Antalya are the most frequently represented with 100 and 98 flights, respectively. In addition, the Greek islands, Crete, Rhodes and Kos, as well as the Canary Islands with Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife are on offer. Other destinations are Hurghada, Bodrum and Pristina.

There are a total of 182 connections to the Lufthansa network via Munich and Frankfurt. Connecting flights to worldwide destinations can be reached via the two hubs with just one change. In addition, on 28th October the first flights of Adria Airways will take place at the home port to the new destinations Zurich, Vienna and London.

"We are well prepared for the wave of travel during the autumn holidays and are pleased to be able to offer travelers from PAD this year a larger number of flights and destinations. These are also the last weeks of the summer schedule, which was marked by some changes in the first year after the departure of Airberlin and Niki. In view of the associated challenges, we are satisfied with the number of passengers so far and are confident that we will be able to complete the full year 2018 with a year-on-year increase, "says Dr. Ing. Marc Cezanne, Managing Director of Flughafen Paderborn / Lippstadt GmbH.
