To comply with environmental regulations - Renewal of the apron areas at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport completed
The work started at the end of 2019 on the fundamental renewal of the apron areas has been completed. This means that the areas on which the aircraft are parked and processed at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport have been brought up to date and continue to meet all the necessary environmental requirements. Recently, new markings were also added to shorten the distances for the aircraft on the ground.
The first phase of construction started in November 2019. Preparatory measures for wastewater treatment for the handling areas were initially carried out. The expansion of the existing apron area began in January this year. Further drainage, empty pipe and cable work was carried out. The new concrete surface was then applied with the new apron marking for the handling positions.
“The work on our flight operations areas had become necessary in order to meet the required environmental requirements in the long term. Fortunately, these could now be completed on time, ”says Dr. Marc Cezanne, managing director of Flughafen Paderborn / Lippstadt GmbH.
The measure is part of an investment program in which, in addition to the renewal of airport areas, technical equipment and systems in particular are modernized to meet the required standards.
