Pittsburgh International Airport Traffic Report for June, July 2015
Despite a slight dip this summer, total passenger traffic, flights and available seats at Pittsburgh International Airport continue to increase year-over-year.
In June, combined enplaned and deplaned traffic totaled 746,252 passengers. June 2015 shows a 5.5 percent increase from the previous month, and a 1.3 percent decrease over June 2014, which had 755,989 passengers.
June 2015 year-over-year scheduled flights increased more than 10 percent and available seats increased by 5 percent, predominantly the result of Allegiant, Sun Air Express and OneJet commencing service as well as additional seasonal and charter Caribbean flights. In June, new nonstop flights to Myrtle Beach began on Allegiant, and nonstop flights to Cancun and Punta Cana began on Delta.
In July, combined enplaned and deplaned traffic totaled 760,936 passengers. July 2015 shows a 2 percent increase from the previous month and a 0.4 percent decrease over July 2014, which had 763,921 passengers.
Though July, year to date total airport passenger traffic is up 0.8 percent with 4,660,519 passengers compared with 4,622,730 in 2014.
Pittsburgh International Airport serves 52 destinations nonstop with an average of 169 weekday departures and more than 14,300 available seats on 11 carriers.
