Allegiant Takes Off From Pittsburgh to Puerto Rico and Austin
New Markets Mark Eighth and Ninth Destinations Served by the Carrier from Pittsburgh International
Allegiant this week celebrates the start of nonstop flights from Pittsburgh to Austin, Texas and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
“We’re thrilled to begin service from Pittsburgh to two world-class destinations – Austin and Puerto Rico,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “We’re excited to continue growing in Pittsburgh by adding new destinations and basing an additional aircraft at Pittsburgh International Airport.”
The new year-round flights to Austin will operate twice a week and the new seasonal flights to Puerto Rico will operate once weekly. The new flights provide Pittsburgh area travelers with their only nonstop flight options to both Austin and Puerto Rico.
“Allegiant has continued to grow in Pittsburgh, matching the robust demand for nonstop air service in our region,” Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald said. “Not only is Allegiant creating jobs by basing aircraft here, the airline is capitalizing on our regional growth and is a part of the success at Pittsburgh International Airport.”
“Allegiant is an important partner with us and we’re excited to see nonstop service to San Juan and Austin once again,” Allegheny County Airport Authority CEO Christina Cassotis said. “We look forward to Allegiant’s continued growth as the airline offers more options to our passengers.”
