King Khalid International Airport launches New Air Route to Beijing
Riyadh Airports Company (RAC), which manages and operates Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport (KKIA), has announced the launch of a new air service connecting Riyadh and Beijing with three weekly flights operated by AIR CHINA, starting the 6th of May.
RAC stated that the inauguration reflects its commitment to achieving the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and enhancing air connectivity efforts to directly connect KSA and China to attract more Chinese tourists to visit Saudi tourist destinations and get acquainted with investment opportunities. It noted that this cooperation with AIR CHINA builds on RAC’s achievement in this regard, most recently KKIA obtaining the Welcome Chinese certification last July, which was a factor that assisted in the success of the cooperation. “The inauguration supports the future of the National Aviation Strategy aimed at increasing travel destinations to more than 250 via 29 Saudi Arabian airports, developing the airports’ infrastructure and operations, enhancing competitiveness by enabling fair competition and prices, and establishing regulatory frameworks of operational processes at local and international levels,” the company added.
AIR CHINA, which is headquartered in Beijing, is the national airline of China and operates a fleet with approximately 485 aircraft, which makes it rank as the fourth largest airline company in Asia.
