WIZZ AIR ANNOUNCES SIBIU – DORTMUND ROUTE
Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced a new route from Sibiu to Dortmund in Germany which will commence on 26 October. The new service will initially operate 2 times a week.
Dortmund is the 2nd destination from Sibiu after the London Luton service began operations on 14 June on the airline’s low fares.
On this occasion Marius Ioan Gîrdea, General Manager of Sibiu International Airport said: "We can only see this new progressive step of our cooperation with Wizz Air as the reassurance of our foreseen prospects for passenger volume increase and route expansion at Sibiu International Airport in the near future. Furthermore, the addition of this new European destination comes to meet the expectations and needs expressed by the community we serve and the combined efforts of Sibiu County Council and the airport management team towards developing the range of connections that our passengers can access."
Wizz Air spokesman Daniel Carvalho said: "[...] Wizz Air now announces a new Sibiu service to Dortmund. With fares starting from just RON 109, we hope that this route will be as popular as the other 88 in the Romanian network. We also hope that this new service can contribute to strengthen business relations and tourism between both countries. Tickets are already on sale on wizzair.com.”
