Sibiu International Airport takes flight toward a greener future with Level 1 Carbon Accreditation!
We are thrilled to announce that Sibiu International Airport has successfully met all the necessary requirements to join Airport Carbon Accreditation at Level 1 Mapping! This achievement represents a significant step in our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
By entering at Level 1, we are dedicated to conducting a thorough analysis of our CO2 emissions and developing structured plans to reduce them. This marks an important first step in our journey toward decarbonisation.
We’ve already begun implementing several initiatives to enhance our environmental performance. For instance, we are upgrading our lighting to energy-efficient LED systems throughout the terminal and airport facilities. We’re also enhancing our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems to significantly reduce energy consumption.
In addition, we are exploring the use of solar panels to harness renewable energy, which will help lessen our reliance on conventional energy sources. Our commitment to effective waste management is reflected in initiatives such as establishing waste segregation and recycling programs aimed at minimizing landfill waste. We’re also implementing composting programs for organic waste generated by our food and beverage outlets.
These efforts showcase our dedication to sustainability and our proactive approach to reducing our carbon footprint. We’re excited to share this journey with our community and stakeholders and look forward to updating you on our progress!
