Winter flights to Switzerland now on sale from London Southend Airport
Tickets on sale today for winter flights to Switzerland with SkyWork Airlines from London Southend Airport.
Flights will leave London Southend four times a week (Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) at 12.20pm (arriving in Bern at 4pm), with the return flight taking off from Bern at 12pm (arriving back in Essex at 12.50pm).
The new lunchtime take off and arrival time for winter (from 25 October) is being introduced to allow a more relaxed travelling experience for leisure passengers enjoying a trip to the capital city of Switzerland and beyond.
SkyWork chose London Southend due to its reputation for fantastic customer service along with its simply easier, super swift links to the heart of London. The airport’s railway station is just 100 paces from the terminal with up to eight trains per hour direct to London Liverpool Street in just 53 minutes. With no big queues and a brand new facilities, the travel experience on departure at London Southend is second to none and those arriving with just hand-luggage can expect to move from plane to train in just 15 minutes and not much more if luggage has to be collected.
Bern has all the fantastic features of a capital city. Its unique cityscape – designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site – includes exceptional medieval buildings such as the Cathedral (Münster), the Clock Tower (Zytglogge) and 6km of arcades (Lauben) – the longest covered shopping promenade in Europe. It is also the home of the legendary Swiss chocolate Toblerone and Emmental cheese. Bern airport is also very popular with skiers, being the closest (just 30 minutes by direct train) to the Jungfrau Region with Gstaad and the iconic Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.
