Chopin Airport - summary of May 2020
In May 2020, 119 passenger air operations were performed at Chopin Airport (a decrease by 99.2%), and a total of 6,000 passengers used the services of the capital's airport - by 99.6 percent less than in the same period last year.
Since the beginning of 2020, 2.817 million people have been served in international traffic (a decrease of 54.4 percent), while in the domestic 313 thousand (decrease by 54.4%). 2.299 million passengers chose the traditional movement (a decrease of 54.8 per cent), from low-cost 502,000 people (decrease by 56.9%) and charter 328,000 people (decrease by 41.4%). Most passengers (56.5%) traveled in the Schengen area and 43.5% has chosen destinations to Non-Schengen countries.
From the beginning of the year, cargo on board all aircraft amounted to 31,819 tonnes (a decrease of 13.7 percent). On the other hand, the carriage of mail on board all aircraft amounted to 2,998 tonnes (a decrease of 55.4%).
