Chopin Airport - results for June 2020
In June 2020, 1.2 thousand passengers air operations were performed at Chopin Airport (a decrease by 92.4 per cent), and a total of 46 thousand passengers used the services of the capital's airport (by 97.4 percent less than in the same period last year). In June 2020 two new directions were launched: Turku and Tenerife, both operated by Wizz Air.
From the beginning of 2020, 2.842 million people have been served in international traffic (a decrease of 63.4 percent), while in the domestic 334 thousand (decrease by 60.1%). 2.328 million passengers chose the traditional flights (a decrease of 63 percent), low-cost 515 thousand passengers (decrease by 64.9 percent), and charter 333 thousand passengers (decrease by 60.8%). Most people (56.9%) traveled in the Schengen area and 43.1% chose directions in the Non-Schengen area.
From the beginning of the year, cargo on board all aircraft was 36,641 tonnes (a 18% decrease). The transport of mail on board all aircraft amounted to 3,196 tonnes (a decrease of 60.4%).
