Say hello to sunny Brisbane with new Qantas route
December 2015
Qantas is making it even easier for Central New Zealanders keen to hop over to sunny Brisbane as they launch their direct seasonal service out of Wellington tomorrow.
The new service will provide 12,000 extra seats on the Brisbane network, providing 72 direct flights to one of our most loved holiday destinations with onwards connections to Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and Los Angeles.
“With strong demand from Kiwi’s on both sides of the ditch, we are pleased to welcome Qantas on this route. The service provides travellers with more choice and flexibility when travelling over the busy holiday season,” said Steve Sanderson, Wellington Airport Chief Executive.
The service will be the fourth new international route this year. “We have had a fantastic year in airline growth with a 17% increase in international traffic this year. It is great to see that the airlines are recognizing the opportunity that Wellington presents.”
The Qantas Brisbane service will operate three times per week on Monday, Saturday and Sunday from 5 December – 21 February 2016. All fares include in-flight dining and entertainment.
Qantas will also commence their supplementary services to Melbourne and Sydney direct out of Wellington to cater for strong demand over the Christmas period.
