Your chance to experience The Rock
Wellington Airport’s new terminal ‘The Rock’ will be open for everyone to explore on Sunday 21 November giving Wellingtonians the opportunity to catch a behind-the-scenes look at the city’s new addition.
The Airport is holding a Public Open Morning with something for everyone, including air displays, free flight giveaways, static aircraft displays with access onto the tarmac, live entertainment all morning, activities throughout the airport, lots of special deals and other prizes to be won from 9am until 1pm.
Free bus transport is being provided by the Airport Flyer bus service and car parking is available for a gold coin donation at Miramar South School and Rongotai College, with a free transfer shuttle from Rongotai College provided by Go Wellington.
The Rock is a unique airport terminal which has already captured the imagination of the architectural community. Wellington based design commentator Tommy Honey said: “When people go inside they will realise the true value of this spectacular and supremely elegant building. People are going to leave for the airport early just so they can hang there.”
This is your chance to see inside the building people are talking about – we hope to see you there on the 21st.
