THOMSON AND FIRST CHOICE ANNOUNCE NEW FLIGHT TO GIRONA FROM GLASGOW AIRPORT
18th January 2016
Leading holiday brand Thomson is pleased to announce the addition of a weekly route to Girona, Spain launching on 7th May.
Customers flying to the airport will be able to choose from some of Thomson and First Choice’s most popular hotels, including the 4Sun Premier Fergus Style Mar Mediterrania which boasts a beachfront setting and stunning sea views from every room, as well as the 4T Platinum Hotel Golden Bahia de Tossa & Spa where families can enjoy spacious rooms, amazing pool scene and lively entertainment programme.
The town of Girona sits beside the banks of the River Onyar in Catalonia, northern Spain and is well known for its ancient architecture. There is a Roman city wall that dates back to the 1st century BC, a 15th century gothic cathedral and a square of independence. Thomson offers a Girona city tour and Catalonia Surprise tour as part of the in-resort excursion programme, which explores all that the destination has to offer.
Paul White, Business Development Manager at Glasgow Airport said: “Girona is a fantastic addition to our strong and growing list of European city destinations. This is the perfect holiday spot for travellers looking for a small, quintessentially Spanish experience, and Girona also offers an ideal access point to a number of popular holiday resorts on the Costa Brava including Lloret de Mar and Tossa de Mar. The city is famed for its flower festival which brings thousands of visitors to the region every May. We’re looking forward to working with Thomson and First Choice to ensure the success of this new route.”
