SPANAIR OPENS A ROUTE TO BARCELONA TODAY
Today Spanair opens its new direct flight from Helsinki to Barcelona. The airline will be operating the route in cooperation with Blue1 twice a week.
Spanair's first landing at Helsinki Airport is around 4.30pm.
"We welcome the new operator warmly to Helsinki Airport. The route will be inaugurated in excellent manner since the plane arriving today is fully booked", says Juha-Pekka Pystynen, Director of Helsinki Airport.
The non-stop Spanair flight departs from Helsinki at 5.05 pm, arriving in Barcelona at 8pm. The flight from Barcelona departs at 11.30am and arrives in Helsinki at 4.20pm.
Spanair has signed a codeshare agreement with Blue1, which will expand Blue1's route offering to include Madrid and Palma de Mallorca in addition to Barcelona. Correspondingly, Blue1 domestic destinations Kuopio, Vaasa and Oulu will still operate under Spanair flight numbers.
