Leeds Bradford Airport is celebrating a new addition to its route network, as Jet2.com commenced services to Verona, Italy with the inaugural flight this week.

Verona is one of Italy’s most popular travel cities, a beautiful city known as the ‘city of love and romance’. The city is famed for its culture and was the setting for Shakespeare’s legendary Romeo and Juliet play. Tourists visit the ‘Casa di Guilietta’ or Juliette’s House.  It is also home to an open air amphitheatre, which hosts an annual Opera festival.

Tony Hallwood, Aviation Development & Marketing Director at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “It is a pleasure to launch new services to Verona with Jet2.com, a welcome addition to the airlines extensive European route network available from Leeds Bradford Airport.

“Verona is a beautiful destination with an abundance of cultural sights for Yorkshire travellers to enjoy.”

Jet2.com’s services to Verona will depart each Wednesday, leaving Leeds Bradford at 1400, touching down in the destination at 1715. Return flights leave Verona at 1755 each Wednesday, arriving back to Leeds Bradford at 1910.

Verona is one of Jet2.com’s 5 new destinations available from Leeds Bradford this summer. The airport has already welcomed services to Kos, Fuerteventura and Budapest; flights to Reus with Jet2.com will commence from 17 June.
