Travel agents explore Guernsey as part of first winter schedule from Leeds Bradford Airport

Tuesday 8th November 2016: Aurigny’s first season of winter flights between Leeds Bradford Airport and Guernsey commenced at the beginning of this month (November).

To mark the first ever winter schedule between the two regions, Aurigny and Leeds Bradford Airport organised for a group of Yorkshire travel agents to explore Guernsey to get a flavour of the island.

The new winter schedule sees twice-weekly flights departing from Leeds Bradford Airport. This continues on from the success of the summer schedule for the airline, when four flights a week proved popular with both lesiure and business passengers.

Guernsey has lots to offer year round for a whole host of domestic travellers and the agents had the opportunity to see for themselves what was available for their customers.

Scheduled flights are Mondays & Fridays:

Clive Acton, Commercial Manager at Aurigny, said: “It was a pleasure to host the trip to Guernsey for the Travel Agents and a delight to fly them on Aurigny from Leeds Bradford Airport to show them Guernsey and the many benefits we have to offer on the island. The travel agents really enjoyed their short time here and I am sure they will return. I have every confidence in them selling Guernsey in the future.

Emma Holliday, Leisure Account Manager at Leeds Bradford Airport, said: “The agents had a fantastic time in Guernsey, exploring the island and experiencing what’s on offer for visitors. We are very pleased to be offering twice weekly flights through the winter and working with our agents to promote Guernsey and encourage even more passengers to travel to the island all year round.

“A big thanks must go to Aurigny and Visit Guernsey for organising such a great fam trip.”

Mike Hopkins Director of Marketing and Tourism at Visit Guernsey, said: “We were delighted to welcome the agents to Guernsey so they could experience, first hand, all the Island has to offer. The continuation of the Leeds Bradford Airport route throughout the winter is great news as it gives us the opportunity to attract additional visitor numbers from the north and north east of England through the shoulder months.

“Visit Guernsey will continue to work closely with Aurigny, Leeds Bradford Airport and our tour operator partners to help maximise awareness  and bookings for  this successful new route.”
