20 years, time for a celebration! Programme of September festivities
Brussels South Charleroi Airport is celebrating its 20th anniversary. In line with its activity programme, which focuses on solidarity and friendliness, the airport organises a whole set of activities in September.
A short overview of the programme:
9-11 September 2011: Aviation Safety Congress
The airport’s fire brigade organises events for a wide audience and for safety
professionals.
Events include: a seminar about airport accidents in urban areas, various
performances, barbecues (reservation needed), exhibitions, animation for all, a
motorcycle challenge, a ceremony to honour the victims of the WTC attacks and
dressing up “Manneken Pis”.
Where? At the old terminal of Brussels South Charleroi Airport and in the centre of
Brussels.
Times: from 9.00am till 8.00pm (performances from 8pm till 11pm on Friday and
Saturday).
17 September 2011 : Maiden Flight “I had a dream”
Maiden flight for 600 children from underprivileged families.
Where? At the new terminal of Brussels South Charleroi Airport.
Time: from 9.00am till 4.00pm.
17 September 2011: Commemoration of WTC attacks
The Brussels South Charleroi Airport’s fire brigade will commemorate victims of the
WTC attack with their colleagues from New York.
Where? At the old terminal of Brussels South Charleroi Airport.
Time: from 11.00pm till 1.00pm
24 September 2011: Indoor Cycling Marathon
Numerous celebrities will participate in the marathon that will be animated by 6 DJs.
All profits will be donated to Cap 48 (charity of RTBF). Many activities for children will
be organized during the whole afternoon. Giant raffle with wonderful prizes to win.
Where? At the old terminal of Brussels South Charleroi Airport.
Time: from 2.00pm till 8.00pm.
30 September 2011: Gala dinner
Gala dinner served by 3 Michelin Star chefs; all profits will be fully donated to several
charities.
Where? Palais des Expositions of Charleroi
Time: Starting from 7.00pm
1 October 2011: Airport Community Party
A festive evening at the “Palais des Expositions” of Charleroi for all members of the
airport community. All benefits go to RTL’s Télévie
