Belgians and residents of neighbouring countries will be able to jet off thanks to this direct link between Brussels-Charleroi and Chișinău, starting on Sunday 16 December 2018.
Wizz Air started operating at Brussels-Charleroi in 2004. After 14 years of successful operations, the airline has already announced two new routes this year from BSCA (Sibiu and Iasi - Romania). Wizz Air currently offers eleven routes, so a total of seven countries available from Brussels-Charleroi (Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Slovenia and Moldova). This gives the airline a capacity of more than 900,000 seats on these routes available from Brussels South Charleroi Airport in 2018, so an increase of 9% compared with 2017.
Andras Rado, Corporate Communications Manager at Wizz Air said: “Wizz Air, one of Europe’s fastest growing airlines and the leading low-cost carrier in Central and Eastern Europe, continues its strong growth and creates ever more opportunities for its travellers to discover Europe and beyond at the lowest fares. Today we were thrilled to announce our 11th route from Brussels-Charleroi to Chișinău, Moldova. Our continuous growth in Brussels further strengthens Wizz Air’s commitment to Belgium, the city and the airport of Brussels-Charleroi, as well as stimulate the tourism and hospitality sectors in the country.”
For his part, Jean-Jacques CLOQUET, CEO of Brussels South Charleroi Airport, agrees: “We are really happy to see Wizz Air continuing to grow. Thanks to this new line, another capital is available for our travellers to visit. Wizz Air is a major player at Brussels South Charleroi Airport, and the proactive relationship between our two companies helps us both grow. This year, the airline has announced the launch of three new routes (Sibiu, Iasi and now Chișinău) from our airport.
