King Fahd International Airport (KFIA), Dammam, will welcome 7 new airlines over 7 months from November 2009 to May 2010.
Felix Airways, Iran Air, and Jet Airways commenced operations to KFIA in November 2009, February 2010, and March 2010 respectively. Felix Airways operates services to Dammam from Sana'a and Aden, Iran Air from Mashhad, and Jet Airways from Trivandrum.
In addition to the above, KFIA will welcome Cham Wings Airlines, Bahrain Air and another regional carrier over the next 2 months. Malaysia Airlines will commence 2 weekly services from Kuala Lumpur to Dammam via Dubai on 4 May 2010.
The arrival of these carriers will boost the number of airlines operating to KFIA to 32. This represents a 33% growth over the airline count at KFIA since January 2009.
"To welcome 7 new airlines over 7 months is a significant achievement for KFIA. This is indeed a bumper crop," says Engr. Khalid K. Almz'el, Director General of KFIA. "We are happy that our marketing efforts have borne fruit and yielded positive results for KFIA."
To create a more pleasant travelling experience for its passengers, KFIA has embarked on a service quality campaign to improve services provided by various government agencies at KFIA.
"The improvement in service quality has enhanced the effectiveness of our marketing efforts," says Engr. Khalid K. Almz'el. "We are heartened that KFIA has become the airport of choice for more passengers in the Eastern Province."
