Gastronomic delight for the Algarve once again

The Algarve has once again amazed the critics of the world acclaimed Michelin Guide who have awarded 5 restaurants and chefs in the Algarve of a total of 14 in Portugal, the much coveted 1 and 2 stars.

Of the 14 establishments and chefs awarded, 5 restaurants are in the Algarve, 4 are in Lisbon and Cascais, 3 are in Porto and the Douro Valley, 1 is in the Alentejo and 1 is in Madeira.

In Algarve the 5 awarded restaurants and chefs are:

2 stars:

• Ocean Restaurant at Vila Vita Park (Porches)- Chef Hans Neuner
• Vila Joya at Hotel Vila Joya - Chef Dieter Koshina (Galé) Also on the list of the World's 50 Best Restaurants

1 star:

• Henrique Leis at Henrique Leis (Almancil) - Chef Henrique Leis (for 15 years)
• São Gabriel (Almancil) - Chef Leonel Pereira
• Willie's (Vilamoure - Chef Willie Wegner 

Unfortunately, no restaurant in Portugal has yet received the coveted 3 star category.
