Beach and Family holidays in the Algarve
Featured once again international press
In the last week the Algarve has once again been featured as one of the best places for family and beach holidays.
Nominated again this year for Best Beach Destination in Europe buy the World Travel Awards its no wonder so many people floc to the Algarve to enjoy one of its best natural assets.
According to Best European Destination website Marinha beach in Lagoa is placed in 6th as one of the best beaches in Europe. This is what they had to say:
"Praia da Marinha (in English: Navy Beach) is one of the most emblematic and beautiful beaches of Portugal, located on the Atlantic coast in Caramujeira, Lagoa Municipality, Algarve. In 1998, it was awarded with the distinguished "Golden Beach" award by the Portuguese Ministry of the Environment because of its outstanding natural qualities. Furthermore, many pictures of this beach have often been used in promotional material and "Guides of Portugal" distributed around the world."
Also in the news The Guardian featured the west coast of the Algarve as one of the best family holiday destinations in places like Aljezur and Arrifana. This what they had to say:
"It’s all about the beaches in this southern region of Portugal; long, wild and often empty, it has them in spades. Base yourself near the small town of Aljezur and you’ve got the best of the region’s sand on the doorstep – including Amoreira, Arrifana and Monte Clérigo, which are all inside the Costa Vicentina natural park – plus a range of homely restaurants. For organised activities, book a family donkey trek or craft workshop with Burros & Artes, sign older children up for surf school, book a family activity day with Algarve Adventure or cycle up into the hills to explore cork-oak-forested slopes and small villages, stopping to buy oranges at the stalls that line the roadsides each summer."
