Route launch Faro-Zurich by air berlin

Faro Airport inaugurated today the new direct route to Zurich served by airberlin.

To mark this new schedule service from Faro and the connectivity importance for the Algarve region to one of the most important metropolitan areas of Europe and a widely used airport for connecting flights (hub), the President of the Algarve Tourism Board, Desidério Silva, President of the Algarve Tourism Association, Carlos Luis and the Airport Director, Alberto Mota Borges received the passengers on arrival and departure of the inaugural flight.

To Faro Airport, this new schedule connection, served by airberlin until March 25th with a A320 (180 seats), represents a global offer (arrivals + departures) in over 15.840 seats and 88 movements, which is a clear airline bet on the Algarve as a winter tourist destination.

 

For airberlin “ Our very first flight from Zurich to Faro in April was booked out, and this positive trend continues: Swiss travellers also want to fly to the Algarve with airberlin. We have introduced a new winter service from Switzerland to Portugal, and have increased the frequency to two flights per week”,said Lucas Ochsner, Managing Director of airberlin in Switzerland.
