Algarve receives another Michelin star
And continues to be the region with most stars
There’s a new member in the Michelin Star Portugal club! For 2016, the Michelin Guide to Spain & Portugal has awarded a first time star to Chef Rui Silvestre at Bon Bon in Carvoeiro, in the Algarve. Sadly, L’And Restaurant in Alentejo loses the honored designation. In total, 14 restaurants in Portugal are recognized with stars; six are in the Algarve, four in Lisbon, three in the Porto area, and one in Funchal in Madeira. Maintaining two stars for 2016 are Belcanto in Lisbon, Ocean in Armação de Pêra and Vila Joya in Albufeira.
