Wingo Airlines with New Weekly Bogota - Punta Cana Direct Flights
The number of South American tourists to the Dominican Republic grew a healthy 6.8% during January-November 2016. Now, visitors from this region will benefit from yet another direct travel option to Punta Cana.
The low cost Colombian airline Wingo recently began weekly flights between Bogota and Punta Cana. The flights will be on Mondays, departing Bogota at 2:57 p.m. and arriving in Punta Cana at 3:49 p.m., using a Boeing 737 aircraft.
Wingo flies with full support of Copa Airlines. It currently has a fleet of four Boeing 737 aircraft, with capacity for 142 passengers in a single cabin.
The first flight was coordinated by Ministry of Tourism’s Promotion Office in Colombia.
A total of 91,007 Colombian tourists traveled to the D.R. during 2016, of which 64,953 flew directly into Punta Cana. In 2015, the number of tourists from Colombia visiting the country reached 78,735, and 51,267 traveled through the Punta Cana terminal.
