Security Controls at Punta Cana International Airport
When it comes to security controls, Punta Cana International Airport uses the latest technology of X-ray machines, Dual-View technology, which allows screening personnel to see much more as it provides a clearer image of the baggage, while also increasing efficiency. The airport was also the first in the Dominican Republic to install Body Scanners, a modern passenger monitoring system.
Punta Cana International Airport is working together with the Immigration authorities of the Dominican Republic to place Automatic Passport Controls (also known as APCs) for arrivals. As this new system has recently been approved for the airport, it will be implemented in the near future.
