Punta Cana Airport Inaugurates New Canine Unit and Donates 11 K9 Dogs
Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ) has inaugurated a new canine unit and donated 11 K9 dogs, trained for narcotics and explosives detection, to the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and the Specialized Corps for Airport and Civil Aviation Security (CESAC).
The new facility consists of two pavilions to house up to 48 canines, dog training facilities, a playground and animal welfare area, veterinary evaluation areas, administrative offices, and a K9 agent accommodation area.
The delivery of the new canine unit, he said, is an outstanding example of collaboration and commitment to the security and protection of passengers and visitors, indicating that "working together, we can ensure that Punta Cana Airport continues to be a safe and welcoming place for everyone."
