Rimini, 02nd August 2024 - AIRiminum 2014, the management company of Rimini and San Marino International Airport, announces that as of 31 July, the increase in commercial passengers recorded in the first 7 months of 2024 is approximately +16.4% compared to the same period of 2023, which would have been +17.1% if the 3 flights (London, Budapest and Prague) had not been diverted due to the closure of the control tower.

The total number of passengers is almost 180 thousand with an overall fill rate since the beginning of the year of 86% (LF: load factor). Once again this year a characteristic of the Rimini airport is being confirmed, flights travel with a high fill rate: in 2023 Rimini airport ranked third in the Italian airport scene (88%), after Rome Ciampino (90%) and Trapani (92%).

Tirana and Cagliari (also operating in the winter season) are today's ‘top destinations’ with almost 35,055 and 28,138 thousand passengers respectively, followed by Palermo (23,558 passengers), Budapest (18,684 passengers) and Kaunas (17,643).

Ryanair accounts for about 74.6% of commercial traffic and Wizzair for about 20%.

Foreign traffic is about 70.5% (top 5 foreign markets: Albania with 20%, Hungary with about 11%, Lithuania with 10%, Austria with 8% and the Czech Republic with 7%), while traffic from Italy represents about 29.5%.

Passengers in July were around 50,000, an increase of +2.2% compared to June 2023, which would have been +4.4% with the approximately 1,000 extra passengers lost due to the 3 flights diverted due to the closure of the control tower. The month's 150 flights flew with a fill rate of 92%.

Cagliari was the top domestic destination with about 6,000 passengers, while on the foreign market the top 3 destinations were Tirana with about 6,300 passengers, London with about 6,000 passengers, and Kaunas with about 5,200 passengers, which is also the scheduled route with the highest fill rate of about 96.5% (a complete table of data is attached).
