In the first eight months of the year, almost 230,000 passengers, with a flight occupancy rate of 87%. +14.3% compared to the same period in 2023.

Rimini, 3rd September 2024 - AIRiminum 2014, the management company of Rimini and San Marino International Airport, announces that as of 31 August, the increase in commercial passengers recorded in the first 8 months of 2024 is approximately +14.3% compared to the same period of 2023.

Total passengers are almost 230 thousand with an overall load factor since the beginning of the year of 87.2% (LF: load factor). Once again this year a characteristic of the Rimini airport is being confirmed, flights travel with a high fill rate: in 2023 Rimini airport was in third place in the Italian airport panorama (88%), after Rome Ciampino (90%) and Trapani (92%).

Tirana and Cagliari (also operating in the winter season) are the ‘top destinations’ with 42,332 and 34,210 thousand passengers respectively, followed by Palermo (30,136 passengers), Budapest (23,352 passengers) and Kaunas (22,469 passengers).

Ryanair accounts for about 75% of commercial traffic while Wizzair for about 19%.

Foreign traffic is about 71.5% (top 5 foreign markets: Albania with 20%, Hungary with around 10%, Lithuania with 10%, Austria with 8% and the UK with around 8%), while traffic from Italy accounts for around 28.5%.

Passengers in August amounted to more than 51 thousand with an increase of +7.5% compared to August 2023 and the 152 flights (304 movements) for the month flew with a 91.3% occupancy rate.

Palermo was the top domestic destination with 6,578 passengers and Tirana the top foreign destination with 7,277 passengers; Kaunas with 4,483 passengers was the scheduled route with the highest occupancy rate of 95.4% followed by London with 6,114 with a 95.1% occupancy rate (a complete table of the data is attached).
