More than 276,000 passengers in the first nine months of the year, with a flight occupancy rate of 87% +12% compared to the same period in 2023.

Rimini, 3 October 2024 - AIRiminum 2014, the management company of Rimini and San Marino International Airport, announces that as at 30 September, the increase in commercial passengers recorded in the first 9 months of 2024 is around +12% compared to the same period in 2023.

Total passengers are almost 280,000. Excluding Russian and Ukrainian traffic, with reference to ‘Other markets’ and the ‘first 9 months of the year’, this is the Rimini airport's third all-time result. A position that will be consolidated at the end of the year.

Once again this year a characteristic of the Rimini airport is being confirmed, planes are flying with a high load factor of 87.1% (LF: load factor): in 2023 Rimini airport was in third place in the Italian airport scene (88%), after Rome Ciampino (90%) and Trapani (92%).

The top 6 destinations are Tirana (about 47 thousand passengers), Cagliari (about 40 thousand passengers), Palermo (about 36 thousand passengers), Budapest (about 28 thousand passengers), Kaunas (about 27 thousand passengers) and London (about 23 thousand passengers).

With reference to the Palermo and Cagliari routes, incoming traffic is 47.6% and 47.2% respectively.

Ryanair accounts for about 76% of commercial traffic while Wizzair about 18%.

Kaunaus is the scheduled route with the highest fill rate since the beginning of the year at 93.4%.

Foreign traffic is about 72% (top 5 foreign markets: Albania about 17.7 per cent, Hungary about 10.3 per cent, Lithuania about 10.0 per cent, UK about 8.4 per cent and Austria about 7.6 per cent), while traffic from Italy accounts for about 28 per cent.

Passengers in September numbered more than 45 thousand with an increase of +1.2% compared to September 2023 and the 140 commercial flights (280 movements) for the month flew with a load factor of 86.7%.

The top 6 destinations in September were Cagliari (approximately 5.8 thousand passengers), Palermo (approximately 5.7 thousand passengers), London (approximately 5.6 thousand passengers), Tirana (approximately 5.4 thousand passengers), Kaunas (approximately 4.7 thousand passengers) and Budapest (approximately 4.6 thousand passengers).
