Join the Tampere Aviation Forum 16.5.2018
Tampere, Tampere Hall, Wednesday 16th May, 8.30–17.00.
The Tampere Aviation Forum is an annual meeting for aviation professionals. Its goal is to create a forum in which they can exchange experiences and discuss topics relating to regional air transportation development and collaboration. This year’s edition will be devoted to challenges and opportunities of regional airports in a highly competitive market.
The European liberalization of the air transport sector initiated more 25 years ago has had a deep impact on airports. For regional airports, it has created the opportunity to optimize their underused infrastructure, offer new routes for their passengers and diversify their activities. Hubs also had to adapt to this new competitive and regulatory framework. Competition in the airport sector is fierce. While legacy airlines still favor main airports, low cost airlines have opened new markets. However, due to poor image, commercial risk or sometimes lack of means and experience, many regional airports struggle to attract sufficient airlines to insure their profitability.
What is the state of competition between airports today? How to operate efficiently a network of airports? What are the challenges and good practices of regional airports? How can regions and local authorities assist their airports in their development of new air services?
The conference program includes speeches from professionals of European airports and industry experts like:
• Isabel Goncalves, ANA • Michele Granatstein, Oxera
• Annabelle Lepièce, CMS Belgium • Jonathan Ford, Anna.Aero
• Wolfgang Reuss, airBaltic • Jordi Candela, Aeroports de Catalunya • Andrew Murphy, Shannon airport • Emmanuel Brehmer, Montpellier airport • Jean-Christophe Minot, Lille airport.
As in the previous years, the conference day will culminate presentations and discussion with representatives from international airlines operating to Tampere.
Tampere Aviation Forum offers a great platform for building connections and foster cooperation around the world.
