Tampere CED – Cluster of Major International Events
Within Finland, Tampere is already an attractive city in many senses, but now the city is reaching out to the international event market. The search for major international events will be boosted by a new, globally attractive event cluster, the Tampere Congress & Events District Finland or Tampere CED.
– Tampere CED brand was created in order for us to market Tampere as a venue for top events to the international event organizers in a more efficient way. Tampere offers globally interesting settings for different kinds of conferences and corporate events, as well as for large-scale sports and cultural events, explains the Managing Director of Tampere Hall, Paulina Ahokas.
Dense and dynamic service district
Tampere Congress & Events District, or Tampere CED, forms a cluster of services and professionals where everything important is located within a 10-minute walk. This kind of an area is in a class of its own even on international scale, and competes efficiently with same type of event clusters around the world. In addition to the Tampere Hall, the district houses several different types and sizes of venues: Tullikamari Pakkahuone and Klubi, Technopolis Yliopistonrinne, Tampere University, Tampere Stadium and the Tampere Deck Arena, to be completed in 2021. As for the guests and event goers, there are the services and facilities of the Marriot, Scandic, Lapland Hotels and Sokos Hotels to choose from. The shopping enthusiasts will be pleased with the offerings of Ratina and Tullintori shopping centres.
Tampere Hall’s Sales and Marketing Manager Marjut Heinonen lists the Tampere CED services, which truly are of top international quality:
– There are high-quality premises ranging from meeting rooms for two people to a stadium for tens of thousands of people. The local professionals offer their experience of tens of years in event organizing. The versatile cultural offering and activities pique the interest of the event goers even outside the event itself. And all of this takes place in a city with a strong consciousness of the environment, surrounded by clean nature, in the middle of lakes and forests.
Globally attainable
Getting around within the dense and versatile event district in easy and quick. International event organizers value the location of the venue, and from a bit further away, Tampere is pretty much located in the middle of the world map. A flight to Finland takes about eight hours from both New York and Beijing.
The unique selling point of the Tampere CED, and Tampere itself, is the international atmosphere and a small town’s heart. Finland provides a safe and reliable environment for hosting events, and with the environmental consciousness and the ability to rise to any challenge, Tampere stands out in the global market. A great example of Tampere’s appeal in the international field is the World Music Expo WOMEX, organized in Tampere in October 2019. International event for world music and jazz, WOMEX gathers together over 300 artists and over 2700 music professionals.
