Finland's first Courtyard by Marriott hotel opened in Tampere
A hotel of international level, Courtyard by Marriott Tampere City, has opened its doors. The hotel is Finland’s first Courtyard by Marriott brand hotel, and the first brand new hotel building of the global Marriott hotel chain in Finland. Courtyard is a 37-year old hotel brand, that emphasizes on creating inspiring hotel surroundings combined with top-level customer experience. The Courtyard Tampere City is directly connected to the congress and concert centre, Tampere Hall. The hotel comprises of 11 floors and 229 rooms, including a junior suite.
Courtyard Tampere City is the first Courtyard hotel of the world’s biggest hotel chain, Marriott International, in Finland. Courtyard is a dynamic, modern hotel, where technology, style and comfortable feeling combine to help the guests to make the most out of their stay. World’s first Courtyard brand hotel was opened in 1983 in Atlanta, USA. Courtyard represents the Marriott Bonvoy customer loyalty program, with over 135 million members worldwide.

Hotel’s Kitchen & Bar offers international classics and modern delicacies to the hotel guests and anyone else stopping by. The restaurant offers an abundant hotel breakfast and à la carte menu for dinner, every day. The à la carte menu includes an additional barbecue menu, where one can pick their own favourites from. The lunch menu is ideal for example for a relaxed business lunch. The restaurant’s cosy atmosphere invites to relax over some classic cocktails, modern drinks, mocktails or some high quality special coffees. The cocktail bar is reined by restaurant manager Aleksi Hell, who also trains bar personnel worldwide.

Courtyard Tampere City is located in Tampere city centre, next to Tampere Hall’s main entrance, just a minutes’ walk away from the railway station, Tampere University and the Tulli business region. The gateway between the hotel and Tampere Hall leads the guests straight to the congress and cultural centre from the hotel. Marriott is opening its doors right on time for the big jubilee year: in 2020, Tampere Hall celebrates its 30th anniversary, the Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra reaches 90 years of age and the Moomin Museum celebrates Moomintroll’s 75th birthday.

The interior design of the hotel emanates modern, continental and streamlined elegance. The lounge area boasts international, Scandinavian and Finnish design furniture and artifacts. In the fine details, the hotel guests can observe for example Hanna Uggla‘s paintings, Finnish light fixtures by Innolux and Harri Koskinen, Danish GUBI‘s Bat Lounge armchairs as well as Coco Bar Chairs and Robert Stadler‘s No. 107 chairs by the German Thonet.
The building of the Courtyard Tampere City started in May 2018. The gross surface area is over 8 000 m2. The hotel is designed by the architectures of Arkkitehtitoimisto ALA and the building work was carried out by SRV Rakennus Oy. Before this hotel in Finland there were Marriott Hotels called Hotel St. George, Klaus K Hotel and Hotel Katajanokka, which have joined the chain later on after being opened.
