The inaugural Routes Middle East & Africa took place in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and was hosted by Bahrain Airport Company.
Designed to build on the success of the regional Routes Africa 2014 event Routes Middle East & Africa brought together over 300 delegates from across Africa and the Middle East to meet and discuss route development opportunities across the region.
The event delivered aviation thought leaders from across Africa and the Middle East to discuss industry issues and the future of aviation within these regions. The interactive conference presented delegates with the opportunity to join these talks and hear from some of the most senior aviation specialists from the Middle East and Africa.
Bahrain, which is located in the Arabian Gulf, has a history of aviation that dates back to the early 1920's. Historically it has acted as a gateway between the East and West providing a natural transit destination for early trade routes and a strategic hub for the Northern Gulf. In addition to benefiting from a significant strategic location, The Kingdom of Bahrain is also rich in history and culture, with some historical sites dating back more than 4,000 years.
