Philippine Department of Tourism
The Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) is the primary government agency responsible for the development and promotion of the tourism industry.
The PDOT has developed the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) to guide the public and private sector managers on key tourism development programmes. The NTDP highlights the strategy of improving air connectivity from major tourist source markets to the Philippines. The PDOT aims to further develop and promote the secondary gateways in the country. More new routes mean more travel options for international visitors, and more international visitors mean more opportunities for the locals.
In support of this, the government issued the Executive Order No. 29 which provided foreign air carriers with unlimited access to the country’s secondary international airports in terms of capacity, frequency, and aircraft type.
The PDOT looks forward to working with strategic partners in increasing flight frequency and seat capacity from source markets to key airports in the Philippines.
