The Left Bank
Baiterek
Created on the initiative of the First President of Kazakhstan, the Baiterek was built to express both devotion to historical roots and confidence in the progression towards a new future. Located on the Left Bank of the Yesil River, the tower is a popular tourist destination, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
Akorda
Officially opened in 2004, Akorda houses the staff of the Presidential Administration and is the president’s place of work. The palace includes a blue and gold dome, topped with a spire and golden statue, which includes a sun with 32 rays at its apex, and a steppe eagle flying beneath the sun.
EXPO 2017 Exhibition Complex
The Astana EXPO-2017 was a significant event in the history of independent Kazakhstan. With the theme of 'Future Energy', the exhibition aimed to look at current issues of the energy industry, present sustainable solutions and innovative technologies in the fields of the reduction of CO2 emissions and promote sustainable energy & accessibility of resources for all.
Mangilik Yel Arch
The triumphal arch Mangilik Yel was presented on the 20th anniversary of the Independence of Kazakhstan. Mangilik Yel is translated as the Eternal country, implying a competitive modern state moving through centuries of various regimes and difficult situations, with the country and nation remaining present, triumphal and as everlasting as this monument.
Nazarbayev Center
The Library of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also referred to as the “Nazarbayev Center”, is an informational and ideological complex of the first President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. It functions as a library, archive, museum and research centre.
Ailand Entertainment Centre
Ailand entertainment complex was opened in 2003 and hosts an oceanarium, Ferris wheel, aqua park, jungle-themed animatronics park and much more. Ailand oceanarium is the ocean in the heart of the city and the farthest institution of its kind, located more than 3000km away from the nearest ocean.
