Our hosts have arranged a number of travel options to help you navigate Milan with ease during your stay in the city for World Routes 2021.

Saturday 9 October

Arrivals:

• From LIN, MXP and BGY to all Official Hotels - every hour from 8:00 until 22:00

Welcome Reception:

• From Double Tree Hilton to Piazza Città di Lombardia at 16:45
• From Piazza Città di Lombardia to Double Tree at 19:00

Sunday 10 October

Event venue:

• From Official Hotels* to MiCo at 07:45 (approximate journey time 30 minutes)
• From MiCo to Official Hotels* at 18:15 (approximate journey time 30 minutes)

Monday 11 October

TRANSPORT NATIONAL STRIKE

Italian public transport workers will observe a nationwide 24-hour strike on October 11. The precise timing and length of the strike may vary by location and mode of transportation. Air and maritime transportation workers will strike all day on October 11, while rail workers will commence their 24-hour strike at 21:00 on October 10.

Local public transport, including the Milan Metro, will observe strike action October 11. Guarantee time slots will be in force up to 8:45 and from 15:00 to 18:00.

The Regional, Suburban, Long Distance and Airport services may be subject to variations and/or cancellations. Guarantee time slots will be in force, from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00.

Many services could be delayed or cancelled, and those services that do run could experience congestion. Increased use of private vehicles may prompt traffic congestion on major routes, particularly during the morning and evening rush hours; taxi availability could also be limited at these times. Residual disruptions are likely for all operators as services return to normal following the end of the strike.

Strike-related demonstrations are possible at transport hubs and in city centres nationwide.

Tuesday 12 October

Venue/Hotel Transfers:

• From Official Hotels* to MiCo at 07:30 (approximate journey time 30 minutes)
• From MiCo to Official Hotels* at 18:15 (approximate journey time 30 minutes)

Departures:

• From MiCo to LIN, MXP and BGY - every 30 minutes from 15:00 until 18:30

*No return transfer from/to Enterprise Hotel, Melia Hotel, AC Marriott, Leonardo City Center Hotel, Unahotels Scandinavia. A complimentary public transportation ticket is available for all delegates. 

Public transportation tickets

A public transportation ticket (ATM – official transportation society in Milan) will be provided to all registered delegates. This ticket is valid from 9-12 October for all ground and underground lines in the city, with unlimited access to all means of public transport (metro, trams, buses) within the Milan urban area. 

You can collect your ticket upon your arrival at Milano Airports at the World Routes 2021 Welcome Desk, or at the Welcome Reception at MiCo Convention Center during the event.

Metro information to event venue: Go to Cenisio metro stop. Pick up the underground's Lilla Line MM5 toward San Siro Stadio for 5 stops and get off at Portello.
It's about 15 minutes trip.

Metro information to event venue: Go to Stazione Centrale metro stop. Pick up the underground's Yellow Line MM3 toward Comasina for 2 stops and get off at Zara. There, change the metro line, take the Lilla Line MM5 towards San Siro Stadio for 8 stops and get off at Portello. It's about a 30-minute trip.

Metro information to event venue: Go to Repubblica metro stop. Pick up the underground's Yellow Line MM3 toward Comasina for 3 stops and get off at Zara. There, change the metro line, take the Lilla Line MM5 towards San Siro Stadio for 8 stops and get off at Portello. It's about a 25-minute trip.

Metro information to event venue: Go to Repubblica or Turati metro stop. Pick up the underground's Yellow Line MM3 toward Comasina for 3 stops and get off at Zara. There, change the metro line, take the Lilla Line MM5 towards San Siro Stadio for 8 stops and get off at Portello. It's about a 25-minute trip.

Milan Marriott Hotel

Metro information to event venue: Go to Wagner metro stop. Pick up the underground's Red Line MM1 toward Sesto 1° Maggio FS 1 stop and get off at Pagano. There, change the metro direction, take again Red Line MM1 towards Rho Fiera for 3 stops, get off at Lotto. Here you can go by foot to MiCo  (about 850 m - 12-15 min) or pick up the underground Lilla Line MM5 toward Bignami for 1 stop and get off at Portello M5. It's about a 35-minute trip.

Bus information to event venue: Go to bus stop "C.so Sempione Via E. Filiberto" and pick up the bus n. 78 for 3 stops and get off at Portello M5. It's about a 15-minute trip.

Airport transfer vouchers

Our hosts have arranged a special voucher for all delegates which will permit you free access to private lines from Milano Malpensa, Milano Linate and Bergamo Orio al Serio Airports to Milano Central Station (and back).

This connection is operated by Airpullman Society. The voucher is valid from 8-14 October and allows two runs (one for arrival and one for departure). Seats cannot be reserved. Please show the QR code on the voucher to the driver before boarding.

You can collect your voucher upon your arrival at Milano Airports at the World Routes 2021 Welcome Desk, or at the Welcome Reception at MiCo Convention Center.

Our hosts have confirmed a special agreement for World Routes 2021 with WeTaxi.
