The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), manages Chicago’s two major airports – O’Hare and Midway International Airports. These leading global gateways connect the third-largest metro area in the U.S. to more than 240 destinations worldwide. Each year, the airports’ 50,000 essential workers welcome over 100 million passengers and unload nearly 2.5 million metric tonnes of cargo.

O’Hare is undergoing an $8.5 billion capital improvement referred to as O'Hare 21. This investment will build a new Global Terminal, add approximately 25% gate space and streamline the passenger experience from curb to gate. At Midway, a near $400 million modernization program includes upgraded concessions featuring local cuisine, a recently expanded security checkpoint and enhancements to the terminal parking garage.

As the capital improvement programs at both airports progress, the CDA is poised to welcome new airlines and routes serving all corners of the globe.
