Official Carrier
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is the Official Carrier for Routes Europe 2024
Founded in 1946, SAS, a fundamental part of Scandinavian society and infrastructure, is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. SAS plans to fly to more than 130 destinations in over 40 countries during summer 2024 and has recently added nine new European routes to their network. SAS also plans to open a new transatlantic route from Copenhagen to Atlanta. The currently unserved route will operate daily during the summer months using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, becoming the ninth destination served by SAS in North America.
With an ambition to promote maximum societal benefit through their products and services while minimising environmental impact, SAS operate one of the most modern fleets in Europe and continues to bring in new and fuel-efficient aircraft with 15-30% lower fuel consumption, compared with the aircraft they replace.
SAS is the largest operator from both Copenhagen Airport (CPH) and Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN), as well as being the second-largest airline operating out of Oslo Airport (OSL). A consortium including Air France-KLM has been chosen to take a 19.9% stake in Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) by the SAS board of directors. SAS will also exit Star Alliance, of which it is a founding member, to join SkyTeam.
