Entry Requirements

Nationals of about 170 countries and territories may visit Hong Kong visa-free for a period ranging from 7 days to 180 days. Find out if you need a visa or entry permit to enter Hong Kong for a visit or transit here.

For travelling from Hong Kong to mainland China, visitors might have to apply for a China visa and cannot use Hong Kong visas. 

Passport Validity

Visitors to Hong Kong must have a passport that is valid for at least one month to six months after the planned departure date from Hong Kong, which again depends on the nationality. 

Visa Support Letters

Please note that Routes is not able to sponsor visa applications but we can supply a letter to support your visa process. Visa application is subject to local country rules and regulations and Informa Markets cannot be held responsible for any miscommunication or changes.

Travel Health Tips

Before the journey, visitors should check with their doctor/health services for the Travel Health Centers of the Department of Health for any recommended vaccinations. 

The CDC and WHO recommend some vaccinations for Hong Kong, including hepatitis A, hepatitis B, COVID19, measles, rabies, typhoid, and influenza.
