Gareth Evans
Chief Executive Officer, Jetstar Group
Gareth Evans was appointed CEO Jetstar Group in November 2017. Prior to this, Mr Evans was CEO Qantas International & Freight where he led the successful turnaround of Qantas’ international operations and the arrival of Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner’s into the Qantas fleet. He started this role in March 2015.
Mr Evans was the Chief Financial Officer of the Qantas Group from March 2010 to February 2015. As Chief Financial Officer his portfolio included Finance, Strategy, Treasury, IT, Procurement (including Fleet), Investor Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions and the Group’s Business Transformation Program.
Prior to March 2010, Mr Evans’ roles with Qantas covered many areas including a number of senior financial roles within the Group, commercial and business analytics and the implementation of major business change initiatives; scheduling of the international and domestic network, ticket pricing, revenue management and airline operations on the day; as well as readiness activities for the arrival of the Airbus A380.
Prior to joining the Qantas Group in 1999, Mr Evans held a number of corporate finance roles with Caltex Australiaand KPMG in Australia and the UK. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Julieanne Alroe
Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Brisbane Airport
Julieanne Alroe was appointed to the position of CEO and Managing Director at Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited in July 2009. In addition to this role, Julieanne currently holds board positions with Infrastructure Australia Board (Chair), Tourism and Events Queensland (Deputy Chair) and is a member of the University of Queensland Senate. She is also a Member of the Council of Governors of the American Chamber of Commerce QLD, Urban Futures Brisbane, is the Inaugural President of the Queensland Futures Institute, a member of the Brisbane Infrastructure Council (BIC) and a member of the Queensland Climate Advisory Council (QCAC).
Prior to this recent appointment, Julieanne developed extensive experience within the aviation industry after holding a number of roles at Sydney Airport Corporation. These roles included executive management positions in the commercial, operations, corporate affairs, and planning and infrastructure departments.
Previous board appointments include the position of Chairman of Airports Coordination Australia Ltd and Airports Council International Safety and Technical Standing Committee. She was also a Board member of The Queensland Theatre Company, Australia Trade Coast Ltd and the International Grammar School Sydney.
Julieanne has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Queensland and was granted the Doctor of the Griffith University (honoris causa) in December 2016. She also is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

William Horrocks
Chief Executive Officer, Aviation Australia
Bill was appointed to the position of CEO of Aviation Australia in January 2011.
Prior to this, Bill served with the Australian Army. His military experience covered a range of leadership and management roles, including Division Head and Director General with the Defence Materiel Organisation, where he was responsible for the acquisition and support of the Australian Defence Force’s land systems and equipment.
Bill commanded the Australian Army Recruit Training Centre and represented the Australian Army in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. He participated in operational service in Rwanda.
Bill has an extensive range of tertiary qualifications from the Universities of Queensland, New South Wales, Charles Sturt and Deakin.
He is a graduate and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, the City and Guilds of London, and a member of the Australian Institute of Management and the Australian Institute of Project Management.

Tony Fraser
Managing Director, Australia Pacific Airbus Group
Anthony (Tony) Fraser was appointed Managing Director of Airbus Australia Pacific on 1 July 2015 and as Airbus Head of Country Australia and New Zealand on 9 October 2017.
Upon completion of officer and then flying training, he served in a variety of appointments in Australia as well as the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Canada and the US. Reaching the rank of Major General, Tony Fraser commanded at all levels in Army Aviation including Brigade Commander. He has 5500 military flying hours, mostly on helicopters, and achieved an A1 flying instructor rating.
The last 5 ½ years of his 34 years in Army were in the Defence Materiel Organisation, including four years as inaugural Head Helicopter Systems Division. Tony led the team assisting Mr David Mortimer for his review, and served in the dual role appointment of Head Commercial Enabling Services and Head Program Control and Assurance, which saw him responsible for the DMO input for project Cabinet Submission development and clearance.
In addition to his military career courses, Tony is a graduate of the Harvard Business School. He transitioned from Defence in 2011.
Prior to Airbus, Tony served as Finmeccanica Head of Region for Australasia and a Director of Selex ES Australia.

Professor Tim Ryley
Professor of Aviation, Griffith University
Tim Ryley joined Griffith University in March 2015 as the inaugural Professor of Aviation, following over ten years of aviation lecturing experience at Loughborough University in the United Kingdom. Griffith Aviation has been providing tertiary qualifications to the aviation industry for over two decades and is known worldwide for its innovative and student-focused teaching. The discipline has grown rapidly and now manages over 500 full-time equivalent students in both undergraduate and graduate programs, covering pilot training and aviation management. Professor Ryley also has aviation research expertise in the areas of airport planning, airport surface access, airport operations, and air travel demand.

Mohamed Sallauddin
General Manager, Airline Marketing, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB)
Mohamed Sallauddin graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy and Computer Science from Northern Illinois University, USA in 1985. He also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) (Strategic Management) Degree from the International Business School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. His association with the aviation industry began when he was recruited by Malaysia Airlines (MAS) as a Management Trainee in 1986. He further enriched his aviation repertoire when he joined Malaysia’s first aircraft manufacturing company, Composite Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM) Sdn. Bhd. in 1997. His employment with MAHB in 2001 saw him joining the cadre that led the marketing of the international gateways managed by MAHB. This eventually led to the role of leading MAHB in organising Asia’s first World Route Development Forum in Kuala Lumpur in 2008. He is highly committed to make KLIA the preferred ASEAN hub. He currently serves as a Council Member of the Institute of Marketing Malaysia and was also the Executive Board Member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). His present appointment as Deputy Chairman of the PATA Malaysia Chapter underlines his belief that aviation and tourism are complementary to each other in generating sustainable air travel.

Caroline Wilkie

Caroline Wilkie has been CEO of the Australian Airports Association since 2011.
The AAA represents all major regular passenger transport airports in Australia as well as council airports. The membership spans from councils with grass strip runways to Australia’s major gateways. The AAA also represents a further 140 corporate
members. The AAA is engaged in research, developing industry publications, education, advocacy and major industry events. Caroline has a Masters of Public Affairs and more than fifteen years’ experience in Association Management.

Rob Sharp

Rob is an experienced senior aviation executive, having held a number of executive positions in the Australian airline industry over the past 20 years. Rob has a wealth of commercial expertise including specialist experience in operating in a multi-brand environment, is backed by strong operational credentials and has a track record of innovation.
Previously, Rob spent eight years in various commercial roles at one of Australia’s largest airlines, including Strategy and Innovation, and Global Airport Infrastructure and Services. Rob has been with the Virgin Australia Group just under five years, being Tigerair Australia’s longest serving CEO and Group Executive of Virgin Australian Airlines since June 2017.

Conrad Clifford
Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific, IATA
Conrad Clifford is the Regional Vice President for Asia Pacific at the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Conrad is responsible for IATA’s activities across the Asia Pacific region, focusing on serving the regions airline members’ and stakeholders’ needs. He joined IATA on 1 February 2014.
Prior to joining IATA, Conrad had a career in aviation spanning more than 33 years. He has CEO’d a startup, a domestic, a regional and an international carrier. He has an intimate knowledge of top brand carriers having worked for Cathay Pacific, Virgin Atlantic and Emirates.
Conrad has lived and worked in Asia, Africa, and Europe and has a broad and in-depth knowledge of strategy and business planning, pricing and revenue management and airport operations. Conrad, a British national, graduated from Cambridge University. He holds an MBA from Durham University Business School.

Vinoop Goel
Regional Director Airport, Passenger, Cargo & Security Asia-Pacific, IATA
Vinoop Goel is the Asia-Pacific Regional Director of Airport, Passenger, Cargo & Security Department for IATA. He is based at their Asia Pacific regional office in Singapore. Vinoop leads a team that is responsible for all IATA's activities in the Asia-Pacific region relating to Airports, Passenger Experience, Baggage, Ground handling, Cargo Supply chain, Security and Facilitation. In addition to this, Vinoop also heads the Member & External Relations department for the region that is responsible for IATA membership and government policy issues.
Vinoop has a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT, Delhi in India. He has more than 25 years of aviation industry experience including a 15 year stint in Japan and has been with IATA since 2005.

Andrew Brodie

Andrew joined Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) in January 2011. Reporting directly to the CEO and Managing Director, he is responsible for leading and managing the main commercial revenue earning business units of the airport. Andrew’s teams include the Aviation Business Development Group, Retail and Commercial Management Group and Advertising.
In FY18, Andrew’s teams will be responsible for 65% of BAC’s revenue and will grow passenger numbers to over 23 million passengers through Brisbane’s terminals.
Andrew has over 20 years' experience in commercial management, having spent 15 years with GPT/Lend Lease and AMP in senior executive portfolio management roles responsible for the management

Much of Rob’s career has been in sports management, tourism and major events prior to entering the conventions & business event sector with Brisbane Marketing then progressing to the broader remit of economic development having been recently appointed to the role of chief operating officer.
Brisbane Marketing is the driving force behind Brisbane’s growing reputation as a progressive and globally connected city aspiring to be one of the world’s best economic development agencies. As COO, Rob’s primary purpose is to drive the performance of the organisation’s core business development functions delivering economic outcomes, primarily being: Investment Attraction; Tourism and Major Events; Industry Development (study, skills & innovation); Conventions & business events; and Precinct development.
Some for Rob’s career highlights include the Sydney 2000 Olympics with SOCOG, running professional ironman/surf lifesaving series, working on a host of other major events including the Santos Tour Down Under and 2003 Rugby World Cup. He has held senior roles AFL and Rugby Union where he was responsible for securing the IRB Sevens for Adelaide. More recently Rob led the Brisbane Convention Bureau in securing conferences relevant to the aviation sector including CAPA Australia Pacific Aviation Summit 2016 and Routes Asia 2018. Rob is also a member of the Brisbane consortia for the Connecting with Asia program.

Geoff Hogg has more than 20 years of operational casino experience at a senior executive level. Geoff is Managing Director Queensland for The Star Entertainment Group.
His portfolio includes The Star Gold Coast (formerly Jupiters Gold Coast) located in Broadbeach, the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort situated in Main Beach, Treasury Brisbane, and the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane integrated resort development currently being built in Brisbane’s CBD. On behalf of the Queensland Government, The Star Entertainment Group also manages the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Prior to commencing with The Star Entertainment Group in 2008, Geoff worked with the SKYCITY Entertainment Group for more than 13 years in a number of senior management roles across their New Zealand properties.
Geoff is an active participant in the Queensland business community and in particular, the tourism and entertainment industry. He is a member of the Responsible Gambling Advisory Committee, a director on the National Retail Association, and a governor of the American Chamber of Commerce Queensland Council. Geoff was recently appointed as a Director on the Broadbeach Alliance (Gold Coast).

Nimalan Vikneswaran is the Head of Network Planning at Malindo Air, a full service carrier based out of Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia.
Nimalan is tasked with the short and long term planning of the airline’s network which is spread across Asia Pacific and made possible by a growing fleet of 47 Aircraft, mainly comprised of Boeing and ATR.
He holds a degree in Accounting & Finance and has over 8 years of experience in the aviation industry covering a multitude of areas which include amongst others, Aircraft Leasing.

Erwin Fernandez Balane
Head, Route Development, Philippine Department of Tourism
Dr. Erwin Fernandez Balane is from the Philippine Department of Tourism, and currently serve as the Head of Route Development under the Office of Product and Market Development. With his long experience in attending Routes Asia and other route events worldwide, he led the hosting of Routes Asia in Manila in 2016 and he will be leading again the hosting of the said event in Cebu, Philippines in 2019.
As head of PDOT-Route Development, he has led the negotiation with foreign air carriers in Asia and other parts of the world resulting to an improved air connectivity from major tourist source markets and increased international passenger traffic to the Philippines.
He is a graduate of Doctorate Degree in Public Administration from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and a Master’s Degree from the same university. He also completed his academic requirements leading to Master of Science in Environmental Management at the Philippine Women’s University. Dr. Balane is also a professor in both graduate and undergraduate levels in various universities in Manila. He also worked as a part time tourism development consultant in various golf and resort establishments in the Philippines.

Steven Small
Brand Director, Routes
An economic development and tourism specialist, Steven’s career has focussed on working with destinations supporting inward investment, tourism and economic development initiative.
Roles in inward investment, specifically site selection, and project management led Stevento the Northwest Regional Development Agency, where he developeda grant to help support regional airport’s route development strategies.
As a consultant at Ernst and Young, Steven worked on a number of projects for both private and public sectororganisations, including supporting the development of the business plan for Bath City Council. Back in Manchesterhe joined the city’s inward investment agency, MIDAS, helping attractbusinesses to the city.
From here, he moved to Marketing Manchester workingon a variety of projects including funding packages for Manchester Central –the city’s main convention venue and thenew National Football Museum,as well as delivering the route development fund for Manchester Airport. Steven then took on the role of Head of Business Tourismfor Visit Manchester, working to attract major new events and conferences to the city.
Steven moved back to his home town of Liverpool as Head of Tourism, working with public and private stakeholders to develop a long term strategy to maximise the explosion of the visitor economy, since the European Capital of Culture in 2008, and ensurethe city region continues to improve its offer and grow sustainably.
A move to UBM in February 2017 brought Steven back to route development. As Brand Director, Steven leads a team in the development and delivery of Routes -a portfolio of global events providing a platform for the route development community to negotiate new air services.
A father of two, Steven is a supporter of Everton football club and lives in a village in North Cheshire.

Jordan Chong
News Editor, Australian Aviation Magazine
Jordan Chong joined Australian Aviation in July 2014 as news editor and has responsibility for daily content on australianaviation.com.au, as well as writing features and the Debrief news section for the monthly print magazine.
Previously, Jordan spent seven years at Australian Associated Press, primarily as aviation reporter. He also covered telecommunications, media, economics, money markets and sports at the news agency. He completed his traineeship at Melbourne's The Age newspaper and has also worked at Melbourne's Herald Sun and online publisher Sportal.
Career highlights include working as a radio commentator at the Australian Open tennis tournament and reporting from the 2012 London Olympics. On the aviation front, Jordan has covered the QF32 engine explosion, attended the annual meetings of the International Air Transport Association, and interviewed numerous airline chief executives.

Born in London, England and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Will Livsey began his airline career throwing bags for American Airlines while attending undergrad at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Livsey spent nearly 7 years at American in roles ranging from operations, marketing, sales, and network planning. Following his time at American, Livsey took a position at the Memphis International Airport to create and lead the airport's Air Service Research and Development organization. Most recently, Livsey has joined FlightGlobal, Incorporating Diio, as Head of Customer Support and Product Development. A self-identifying avgeek, Livsey enjoys reading up on aviation history and traveling with family, including with his little sister who works in the Inflight Customer Experience department at British Airways.

Mr. Peter Wiesner has a long experience in the airlines industry. He worked in various management functions more than 30 years with Swissair. He has worked in 10 different countries on 4 continents. In May 2000, he was asked to work for Bangkok Airways as a Vice President – Marketing after retirement from Swiss Air.
At Bangkok Airways, Peter has contributed his extensive airline marketing knowledge and experience in establishing a number of marketing strategies particularly setting up Pricing Organization, which plays a major role in implementing and developing e-ticket distribution channels with all available GDS.
At the beginning of year 2010, Peter Wiesner has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Network Management. It includes Network Planning, Codeshare and Alliances, Traffic & Schedule Planning, Market Research, Product Management, Tariff & Pricing, and Revenue Management.
On 1st January 2016 he was nominated as Advisor to Board of Directors and Advisor - Network & Fleet Management, Bangkok Airways.

Edward began his career at Bain & Company, working in the Australian and Greater China practices. He received his economics degree from the University of Melbourne and his MBA from Stanford University.

The Hon Mark Coulton MP is the Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment in Australia's Federal Coalition Government. He has served in the House of Representatives as the Member for Parkes since 2007.
Mr Coulton has also held the position of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Ageing and the Voluntary Sector, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Water and Conservation and Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Development and Emerging Trade Markets and was the National Party's Chief Whip from September 2010 to May 2016.
Prior to his election to the House of Representatives, Mr Coulton was the Mayor of Gwydir Shire Council from 2004 until 2007 and has an extensive agricultural background having spent 30 years as a farmer and grazier.
Mr Coulton is married with three children.

Henning Greiser

Henning oversees American’s capacity planning for Asia/Pacific and Europe. In this role, he also manages the relationships with AA’s joint business partners – BA, IB, AY and JL. Before his current role, Henning has held various positions within Network Planning as well as Network and Fleet Strategy.
Prior to joining American, Henning worked as a consultant with SH&E (now ICF International), primarily focused on air service development projects for airports in Latin America. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of St Andrews in Scotland and his Master’s degree from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
