Capacity outsourcing in the new reality
Future of the ACMI / CPA business in post-COVID Europe
Back in 2019, the business model of CPA (Capacity Purchase Agreement) was a broadly discussed topic - not only at Embraer. The main question was: would it be possible in Europe to replicate the model of large-scale, multilateral, regional-mainline cooperation that is so well-known from the US market?
We had seen some promising signals: selected players building the necessary scale, first signs of consolidation among the ACMI providers, some rumours about big US-players eying the European market, and an emergence of new local players. But then came March 2020 and most speculations stopped…
During our session, moderated by Michal Nowak (Head of Marketing EMEA at Embraer) we will explore the impact of the COVID-crisis on the future of the capacity outsourcing in Europe. For this, Embraer has invited distinguished guests and real experts on the topic

Collaboration to Create a More Resilient Recovery for Businesses and Communities
Panel Discussion
There has been a lot of talk about sustainable, balanced, green recovery from the present crisis. Many stakeholders see COVID-19 as an opportunity for a complete reset of our economy. How could this concept play out in the aviation sector?
This panel in cooperation with The Travel Foundation will discuss the implications of opening up routes post-COVID, and how airlines, tour operators and destinations can work together to build back capacity and ensure locals benefit.

Spotlight by Region
Asia Pacific
With global passenger numbers not forecast to return to pre-COVID levels until 2024, it is clear the market which emerges from this pandemic will be vastly different. This analysis by region will discuss:
- How has the government action influenced on the way every country has develop from COVID-19? How these measures have affected other countries by creating an unfair playing field such as the quarantine plans? What will happen when government funding ends? Has there been enough joined up approaches from governments in each region?
- Airline diversification strategies
- Scenarios for emergence from the lockdowns – who will be left, how will regulation be affected;
- How quickly will international recovery be possible and what will it look like.
-

Spotlight by Region
Europe
Airlines in Europe are set to lose $21.5 billion in 2020, with passenger demand declining by over half. This puts at risk between 6-7 million jobs supported by aviation in Europe alone. An accelerated recovery of air transport in Europe is vital if the worst of these impacts is to be avoided.
This analysis for the European region will discuss:

How these measures have affected other countries by creating an unfair playing field such as the quarantine plans? What will happen when government funding ends?
