After many years of turbulence, in the last few months the European air transport market hasn’t left us short of things to analyse in an everchanging economic environment.
To name a few, Etihad finalised its participation in Alitalia and Air France went through one of its largest social crisises in 10 years. Others such as Lufthansa, are going through the same challenges; Iberia is delivering good results in one of the most challenging Western European economies; Norwegian continues its long-haul developments, eyeing new markets; and Ryanair have made a 180 degree turn, deciding to put the client at the core of its strategy – and it’s not a marketing trick this time! Lufthansa is creating the first long-haul ‘legacy-LCC’ with eurowings providing Cologne Bonn Airport with a number of new markets at amazingly low fares.
