ASM awarded Birmingham International Airport Route Development Contract
Manchester, August 2009
Birmingham International Airport has awarded ASM, the global aviation route development experts, a two year contract to provide advice and support to the Airport's Market Development function, including market research, campaign management and support for the creation of a new route development strategy.
Paul Kehoe, Birmingham International Airport's CEO, said, "ASM will work with our in-house team to target new global markets and show potential clients that Birmingham is a great opportunity in the UK to develop airline operations and exploit the vast market available in the Midlands.
"With just 36% of our catchment currently using Birmingham Airport for air travel, we need to attract new airlines and claw traffic back to Birmingham. With ASM's help and expertise we will do this and be better placed to meet our goal of handling 18 million passengers by the year 2020."
John Grant Managing Director of ASM said, "We are absolutely delighted to be working with Paul and the Birmingham team. The recent product development and planning permissions will transform the range of airlines and network offered".
ASM will also help support the Airport during the annual World Routes forum in Beijing in September, which brings the world's airlines and airports together to create new business opportunities.
