Routes World 2025 – Latest Hong Kong site visit

The Routes team explore what delegates can expect during the event after our recent site visit to Hong Kong.

The 30th edition of Routes World 2025 will take place in Hong Kong between 24-26 September. Prior to the event, the Routes team conduct numerous site visits to the destination to meet with the hosts, visit the venue where over 13,000 meetings are expected to take place to define global air connectivity, and explore the unique opportunities that delegates can experience during their time in Hong Kong.

Ellie Wells, Head of Marketing at Routes, visited Hong Kong and shares her experience and recommendations with future Routes World 2025 delegates.

Who did you meet with?

We got to meet with the Host team, Hong Kong International Airport and venue team from Asia-World Expo. We also visited 5 potential official hotels and met with their staff. These meetings allowed us to have the important conversations around planning to make Routes World 2025 the event you know and love (with a few added surprises of course).

What can you tell us about the venue?

The venue is currently undergoing renovations that will be completed in time for our event, meaning we can look forward to a state-of-the-art space that will meet all our needs. It is only one stop away from the airport on the metro making it very accessible, and which means you can’t use missing your flight as a reason to spend some more time in Hong Kong!

Where did you stay?

We stayed at the Marriott Sky City, which was a truly lovely hotel with a phenomenal breakfast spread and if that wasn’t good enough, it is only a 2-minute walk across the bridge to the Expo centre.

What did you see?

We got the chance to visit Disneyland with one of our colleagues dressed up as Ariel - 5 points if you guess who! And we also went to the highest bar in the world, Bar 100 where we were above the clouds, a truly memorable experience!

What is one thing you would recommend our delegates must do when they attend the event?

This is easy. Just jump on the metro, it is a testament to how public transport should be, super-efficient and reliable which makes it a star attraction to those of us from the UK!

Hosted by Hong Kong International Airport at AsiaWorld-Expo with support from Hong Kong Tourism Board, Routes World 2025 is set to be one of the biggest events yet with thousands of productive meetings that will shape the future of air connectivity across the world and once in a lifetime networking opportunities.
